Audra McDonald is unparalleled in her range and the versatility of her artistry as both an actress and a performer. A record six-time winner from her Tony Awards, two Grammy Awards in addition to one Emmy Award she received in 2015 from Barack Obama. McDonald was first introduced to the public via television for her dramatic performance in Peabody Award winning CBS's Having Our Say the Delany Sisters first 100 years. McDonald was later cast as a co-star alongside Kathy Bates and Victor Garber in the critically acclaimed 1999 remake by ABC and Disney of Annie and in 2000 she had a recurring role on the NBC's hit show Law & Order Special Victims Unit. McDonald's Emmy-nominated performance as Emma Thompson on Mike Nichols' HBO film adaptation of Pulitzer Prize winner Wit was produced by Mike Nichols. McDonald's return to television networks was in 2003, in which she co-starred with Josh Brolin in Mister Sterling. The Bedford Diaries, a WB television series that debuted in the year 2006. She then had a recurring part on NBC's Kidnapped during the following year. McDonald's character in HBO production Lady Day At Emerson Bar Restaurant earned her a four-time Emmy nomination in 2016. The Bite will be a six-episode drama about a pandemic coproduced by Spectrum Originals, CBS Studios and Taylor Schilling in 2021. McDonald appeared as U.S. prosecutor Liz Lawrence, a character she first appeared on CBS's The Good Wife legal drama in 2009. She reprised this role in the year 2018, playing season the regular Liz Reddick in Paramount+'s The Good Fight. As a result of her role, McDonald received three Critics Choice Award nominees. The actress is a featured character on HBO's The Gilded Age by Julian Fellowes.
